Tilghman Troop Hosts Tri County Camporee in Tilghman
The Tri County District Boy Scouts of America hold their Spring Camporee at Tilghman Mad on June 9 and 10 1951 hosted by Tilghman Troop No 152. Over 260 scouts and leaders from three counties expected with leather neckerchief slides for participants and an evening campfire Saturday at 5 45 p m local time. An outdoor religious service follows Sunday morning. Camporee runs 2 00 p m to 2 00 p m across the two days.

Fluoride Therapy Completed In Denton Schools
The Fluoride Therapy Demonstration Unit, assigned to Denton Elementary Schools by the Maryland State Health Department, completed its three week program. Dr. John E. Frank said about 409 children were examined and 1600 fluoride applications given, with expected future decay reduction about 40 percent. Regular dental checkups remain essential for continued protection.

Methodist Conference Names 2 Superintendents 35 Changes
The Peninsula Methodist Conference ended its annual meeting at Wesley Church Dover with the selection of two new district superintendents and 35 pastoral changes, far fewer than in recent years. Only three Wilmington churches are affected Asbury Madeley and Trinity. Willard J. Robinson will lead Asbury succeeding J C Hanby who moves to Minquadale. Wilmer Abbott will lead Madeley during Rev Conner’s illness and will become pastor. W A Donaway comes to Trinity from Hillsboro Queen Anne to succeed Rev Henry Meredith who plans a move to Arizona. Preston W Spence Jr is the new Easton district superintendent. O A Bartley becomes Dover district superintendent. Dr Essel P Thomas will move from Easton to Atonement. Dr Bartley will remain president of Wesley College. Over 800 people attended the readings of appointments. Spence and Bartley are noted as prominent local clergy with extensive service.

Ellwanger Loses Leg In Accident Near Denton
Dawson Ellwanger, 30, a victim of infantile paralysis, is at Memorial Hospital Easton for above knee amputation after an accident near Denton. He was working alone when a gravel loading machine at Garland Lake toppled him and ran over his leg, pinning him under the track for two hours until help arrived.

Community Club Holds Closing Meeting in May
The Denton Community Club held its closing meeting of the season on Friday May 18 at 1 p m in the Club House with a cov ered dish luncheon. The new Executive Board served as hostesses and Mrs Calvert Merriken presented Mrs William G Towers a General Federation Women s Club pin for her two years of presidency. Towers was reelected president for the coming year and will soon have committees named for the September club year.
