Five Colored Philadelphians Seized for Bootlegging
Five colored persons, two women and three men from Philadelphia, were arrested May 15 and 16 for violating the Federal Alcohol Tax Law by transporting bootleg liquor by motor vehicle. A pursuit by Trooper E C Myers began near Goldsboro, leading to arrests after bribe attempts and discovery of many five gallon cans smelling of liquor. Salisbury officers then found a second car near the Delaware line with 125 gallons of illegal liquor.

Health Department To Move Into New Quarters

Local Oil Men Adopt Program At Meeting
The Caroline County Petroleum Industries Committee held its annual meeting at the Brick Hotel, Denton, adopting a six point program. F. Edward Wright of Tuckahoe Neck Denton has been notified by Congressman Miller of his appointment to the Naval Academy at Annapolis.
