Freeze Your Strawberries For Next Winter
Delicious red strawberries from your garden can be frozen for later eating. Select firm red ripe berries, wash gently, hull after washing, then slice and sugar heavily to draw juice. Turn and pack into moisture proof containers with head space to allow expansion.
Freezing Strawberries and Milk Water Facts
Instructions for freezing berries cover sugaring, headspace, pressing, labeling, and storage at 0 F or lower. Whole, mashed, or juiced berries freeze well. A dairy cow producing 20 pounds of milk daily needs seven gallons of water.
