The Fifty Sixth Annual Convention of the Maryland State Bar Association met at the Hotel Traymore in Atlantic City drawing lawyers and judges from across the state. Judge J DeWeese Carter spoke on immunity in tort of persons in domestic relation and Judge Levin Claude Bailey delivered the president s address on Maryland s boundary controversies. Col Hopkins Killed in Action in Korea
Message received by Mrs. G M Hopkins confirms Corporal James R Hopkins of the 1st Marine Division was killed in Korea. He was born February 10 1931 in Cleveland Ohio and moved with his parents to this territory six years ago. He attended Caesar Rodney and Greensboro High Schools, joined the Marines in 1948, served in Guam, then sailed to Korea in January and died in battle. He is survived by his mother and two sisters.

William A. Cooper Jr. of Ridgely earns an all free trip to the National Youth Foundation Camp near Shelby Michigan. He is one of three Maryland 4-H members chosen to represent the state at the camp and is the first Caroline County 4-H Club boy to win the trip. He serves as a local leader and treasurer of the Caroline County 4-H Junior Council and raises tomatoes and pure bred livestock while active in his church.
