Funeral services for Federal Judge T Alan Goldsborough were held in Denton after his death in Washington D C He was 73 and a former U S representative He served as a DC federal judge after resigning from Congress He gained national fame for contempt rulings against John L Lewis and the United Mine Workers in 1946 and 1948 The President sent condolences noting his stature in law and public service He left a wife Laura Hall and three surviving children Martha Eliza and George with a son T Alen Jr deceased in 1944 The report also lists Caroline County homemakers club attendees and a navy induction note remains for local recruiters and veterans

Finland observer Miss Hiikka Peltonen will study local mental hygiene nursing in late June, after which she will train rural nurses. Greensboro Center to host Friday public nurse visits, and home nursing classes begin October 5 with Red Cross instructor Miss Tunner assisting. Bernice Baker expects to return July 1 after leave.

The Concord Christian Comrade Class held its final meeting before summer at Mrs. Zora Nuttle's home on June 14 1951 with sixteen members and two visitors. Assist ing hostesses were Mrs. Lida Wheat ley and Mrs. Lula Beauchamp. The group opened with singing and prayer, chose scripture from First Corinthians, approved May minutes, and reported net ice cream festival proceeds of 35 dollars and 80 cents. A bulletin board report noted two potted plants for Mother's Day were received by Mrs. Mollie Horsey and Mrs. Ann Eigenbrode. The class voted to donate 50 dollars to a painting project.

Kent Cecil Horse Show Set for Galena June 24
The seventh annual Kent Cecil Horse Show will be held one mile north of Galena Maryland on Route 213 starting at 10 a.m. with twenty classes for Hunters Jumpers Ponies Breeding and Horsemanship and include the Bohemia Hunt Challenge Trophy and new Western Classes. The event, member of the Association of Maryland Horse Shows, benefits the Galena Fire Company with plans for spectator fun and gymkhana events throughout the program. Admission 75 cents adults 25 cents children ringside parking two dollars water stabling available.

Stanford Larson of the U S Department of Agriculture spoke on the perfect combination of locker plants and home storage units. Attendees included home economics teachers and agents, plus representatives from Potomac Edison Consolidated Electric and the Gas and Electric Companies. The group toured the Olney plant of Francis Hawkins and viewed films The Locker Way of Living and The Perfect Combination and Kelvinator Company film. 4th Of July Celebration At Greensboro
Greensboro hosts a day of events starting 10 30 a m with races and games for children on South Main Street. A 2 30 p m baseball game between Ridgely and Greensboro at Greensboro Ball Park follows rival fan interest. The 6 30 p m parade features 75 dollars in prizes and entries from children adults comics bicycles autos horses and more. Fireworks cap the carnival, inviting all to attend.

Greensboro Homemakers Hold Rehoboth Meeting
The Greensboro Homemakers Club met in June at the summer home of Mrs. E J Vandeerift in Rehoboth with 16 members and children. It was a buffet luncheon marking the club’s final meeting of the season. The group toured Rehoboth boardwalk and returned for a feast of ham macaroni and cheese deviled eggs beans potato salad and more. Club treasurer Mrs Samuel Carrow reported a rummage sale net income of 111.75 and thanks were extended to contributors for a successful event.

Over 250 Scouts leaders and visitors witnessed an excellent program at Tilghman Md on June 16 17.
