Health survey crews to visit Denton homes this month
Representatives from the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago will visit local homes in Denton this month to conduct a health and medical study. Local interviewers are Mrs. Frank Lane Mrs. Lacey Orme and Mrs. John Osinski. The project is sponsored by the Health Information Foundation of New York to compile data aiding wise health service use and broad medical care distribution.

Davis Noble Kinder Reunion Plans Prepared

May fire activity in Caroline County included 14 calls, 6 town and 8 rural, with 2 chimney 5 dwelling 2 woods 1 mercantile 2 chicken house 1 miscellaneous and 1 grass fires. Volunteers logged 164 hours, traveled 79 miles, laid 1300 feet of 1 inch hose 1375 feet of 11 1 4 inch hose and set up 160 feet of ladders. Estimated losses were 6500 dollars with 4250 dollars insured. Federalsburg and Ridgely each reported 4 alarms, the misc alarm for a lost child was resolved in 45 minutes.

Illness Delays Wedding Of Judge J D Carter
Judge J DeWeese Carter, 51, who was to wed Mrs Deane Vaughan Wright of Denton on June 25, fell ill last Sunday and was rushed to a Washington hospital. The ceremony and European honeymoon were postponed. During the two month rest, Judges Kintner and Horney will preside in Caroline and Talbot counties respectively.

Omro Todd of Goldsboro and Charles King of Denton are among 47 Washington College students named to the Dean's List for superior scholastic achievement in the second college semester. William B. Green of Denton suffered facial and arm cuts after a wreck on the Ridgely Hillsboro road last Friday night. His car, valued at about $2,000, struck a pole after veering left on a sharp curve. Green was treated by a passerby and charged with reckless driving. A separate chain collision occurred Saturday on Route 404 near Denton when Jasoa J. Gilbert parked, Fred Detwiler slowed, and Clifton R. Wilmer rear-ended him. Continued on page 5.
