Denton Chooses Site for State Roads Garage
Denton will host a new State Roads Garage costing 150 000 to 200 000 dollars. The 236 by 72 foot building will be on the State Roads Building Lot behind Lockerman School and mirrors the Easton garage. Bids target June 15 with work to begin after approvals from the National Production Authority and Bureau of Public Roads. Delegates Logan Blades Senator Redden and local officials spearheaded the project.

Lone Gunman Robs Henderson Driver of 1500 Dollars
A Henderson man, Walter J. Dunlavy, 35, was robbed at gunpoint in Wilmington late Saturday night. The highwayman forced Dunlavy to drive to Canby Park, took 1500 dollars from beneath a front seat roll, and fled in Dunlavy’s 1949 Cadillac. The victim later recovered only his wallet as the money disappeared.
