Junior Golf Tournament Set for Salisbury July 19 20
The 1956 Maryland Junior Chamber of Commerce Golf Tourney will be held at Green Hill Yacht and Country Club Salisbury on July 19 and 20. Open to boys under eighteen by August 15 1956, the 36 hole medal event qualifiers advance to Fargo North Dakota for the national tourney. Maryland Jaycees cover costs plus private donations. Army Widow Opens Rural Kindergarten At Home
Mrs. Robert Jimison, owner of a large farm six miles from Denton, will open a home kindergarten in September. A native of Columbus, Ohio, she previously taught in several states and Germany. Her late husband Lt Col Robert Jimison bought the farm before his death. Five children ages 2 to 18 will be involved, with two large rooms and a yard space reserved for play.

Girl Scout Camp Todd opens July 1 with just one unit needing to fill. Pioneer unit has vacancies for experienced older girls across three sessions, while Lakeside Point and Aquatic units are filled. The Peninsula and Wicomico Councils jointly run the camp with Dorothy Gamber as director and Elizabeth Schadt as Lakeside leader. Eight girls depart June 27 for a national senior roundup in Michigan.

Greensboro Class of 31 Held Reunion Saturday
The Greensboro High School Class of 1931 held a reunion Saturday at Red Men's Hall starting 8:30 p m. The Delmarva Chicken Festival at Ocean City Md June 2022 will crown a senior National Chicken Cooking Champion with a $500 prize and a new stove. The event includes Miss Delmarva IX crowning, the world’s largest frying pan fry, and a Delmarva citizen of the year award announced by Ray Murphy of Delmarva Poultry Industry Inc. The festival runs June 20–22 with contests, parades, and performances on the pier and beach venues.

Sixty Girls Sign Up For County Girl Scout Camp
Sixty girls are expected at the two session Caroline County Girl Scout Day Camp near here from June 19 to 26. Sponsored by the Peninsula Council and organized by a local committee led by Mrs. Matthew Hirshout, the sessions run June 19 22 and June 26 29 with the Citizenship theme. Activities include hikes fire building outdoor cooking skills safety arts and crafts a farm visit and songs with daily flag ceremonies at 9 30 a m and 3 30 p m. Staff under Mrs. Mink include Mrs. James Shaw nurse Mrs. Edwin Unger unit leaders and several assistants.

Edward G Jenkins Dies At His Baltimore Home
Edward G Jenkins known as Daddy Jenks in the 4 H Club world died at his Baltimore home after a six month illness. He was 82 and retired in 1943 after 25 years leading Maryland Boys 4 H Club. A 4 H pioneer, he helped found the Maryland All Stars organization and later worked for the War Manpower Commission. He married Thelma Line in 1946 after his first wife Bertha Clark died in 1943. He was active in the YWCA and Unitarian Church and held leadership in Boy Scouts, Masons, National Grange and Kiwanis. He began his career in 1911 at Honesdale Pennsylvania and served as assistant director of the Boys Working Reserve during World War I.
