C H S Graduates Of 1941 Hold First Class Reunion
Twenty two members of the Caroline High School graduating class of 1941 gathered for dinner at the Denton Fire Hall. Class president Archie H Horner served as toastmaster and welcomed members and guests including former teachers T Conover Crouse and Mrs Helen R Hughes. Mirrors of the class were read and a recording of the 44 voices played. Reprints of the photograph can be arranged through The Journal.

Year s Report For Junior Hospital Auxiliary
The Denton Unit of the Junior Auxiliary of Memorial Hospital at Easton reports activities for the year. Totals include 173.33 from a bazaar booth and 370.21 from a Valentine Dance. Other income comes from a profit 56.60 from an April coffee and 14.50 from broom sales.

Music Students Entertain At First Church June Ist
Music students under Mrs. Mary land Walston presented a formal recital at First Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on Friday evening June 1. The audience enjoyed a varied program in pastel gowns with nosegays as the students honored their teacher with roses. Lead pieces featured names such as Barbara Townsend Violet Reiser Kay Wright and Don Sutton among others with works by Schuman Tschaikowsky Rubinstein and Chopin. The Baldwin spinet piano was courtesy of Thomas R. Young Jr. of Seaford.

Washington College conferred 83 bachelor's degrees and two honorary LL.D. awards at its 174th commencement. principal speaker Fred M. Cpl Gus Koste aided by state police traced suspect J C Combs to a farm near Salisbury after a search ending early Sunday June 11. Major portion of property recovered and Combs jailed in Caroline County. Social Security info session set for June 11 at Denton Health Center starting 10 a.m.

Father And Son Killed In Accident With Truck
William Doran 65 and son Raymond 34 of West Denton died after a Denton to Greensboro road crash with a mail truck last Friday evening. Raymond died at 8 06 p m and William 8 48 p m at Memorial Hospital Easton. Both carpenters from Dover Air Base were returning home when Raymond’s southbound auto skidded on a wet curve into the northbound mail truck driven by John Breen of Smyrna. Breen faced man slaughter charges, released on recognizance. Funeral service held at Moore Funeral Home with interment in Denton Cemetery. William is survived by wife Edna Wooters, two daughters, a son, 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren. Raymond survived by wife Dorothy Caine, a daughter, two sons.

Sixty two Caroline County 4-H girls are enrolled for the annual 4-H Camp at Camp Mardela from June 18 to 22. The program includes swimming, crafts, song leading, recreation, hikes, vespers, assemblies, tribe meetings and campfire with Ellen Wheedleton as director and Naomi Fuchs and Betty Moore teaching crafts.
