County 4-H Girls Hold Achieve ment Contests
Caroline county 4-H girls exhibited and judged at county contests in the Parish House Denton under the 4-H Council. First-place winners advance to the State contests at College Park next month. Judges included Miss Dorothea O Connor Miss Eloise Thawley and Miss Edna Clopper with Home Demonstration Agent Bessie M Spafford.

Bleachers Collapse At Kent Sussex Fair Injures Many
A 100-foot section of bleachers collapsed at the Kent Sussex Fair Grounds last Tuesday around 8 45 PM injuring twenty two people. Spectators toppled into a mass of timber while about 300 watched. Only one person remained in hospital overnight. Officials moved to reinforce bleachers to prevent a repeat incident. Wheat Control Campaign Starts in Caroline County
Wheat growers in Caroline County are to be organized under the Agricultural Adjustment Act. County Agent William H. Evans reports federal authorization to proceed and the formation of a county advisory committee, county board of directors, and a county allotment committee to administer payments and acreage limits. Meetings will explain production control and benefit payments for three years. The effort aims to cooperate with local groups and businesses to gain broad support. Bleachers Collapse At Dover Vaudeville Show Injures Several
Pred Davis Farmington Miss Ger trude Scotten Dover William Bernard Greensboro Miss Elsie Hufnal Dover and Miss Evelyn Holden Easton were among those present when a 100 foot section of temporary bleachers collapsed during a vaudeville show. Spectators were thrown into a mass of wreckage as the grandstand remained in use. Injured were taken to the first aid station and treated by Dr. Chipman with help from nurses. Sergeant Knox led rescue efforts and arranged transport home after treatment. Fireworks followed the accident despite the collapse.
