Rural youths from Caroline Kent Queen Anne's Talbot and Dorchester plan a five county Summer Frolic at Cedar Grove Beach near Cambridge on Sunday July 28. Activities include swimming games 2 to 4:30 directed by Queen Annes County staff a picnic supper and a Song Fest with Caroline County committee led by Jane Brown Grace Gelletty and Stephen Naylor Jr. from Denton and Betty Reihl from Goldsboro Kent County. Evening events feature new folk games led by Stanley Sutton Chestertown vesper service and an Indian camp fire with Dorchester and Talbot counties. Caroline group will join a straw ride. Rock Hall Club To Play Local Ball Team Next Sunday
The Rock Hall Club led by Bill Loller will make its final appearance here on Sunday at 2 o clock. Six games remain on the local schedule with four on the local diamond. Denton has a 1-1 record against Rock Hall this season. Harry Hughes pitched a 6-0 shutout in the first meeting, and a 10 inning 5-4 Rock Hall win in the second. Hartly keeps pace in Mar Del League win over Camden-Wyoming
Hartly nine beat Camden-Wyoming 5 to 2 behind Bobby Knight and Joe Desmond duel on the mound. Hummell keyed Hartly defense with three singles and a sensational second inning catch. Rock Hall swept Houston Libby 8 to 0 and 7 to 1 as Ed Strong and Ed Ler pitched well. Lord homered for Rock Hall. Church Hill overtook Denton 6 to 2 as Miles and Hughes were shelled. Postmaster Bradley Confirmed for Federalsburg Post Office
Frank S. Bradley’s appointment as Federalsburg postmaster was confirmed July 13 after a long career with the postal service dating to 1916. He rose from substitute clerk to regular clerk, served as acting postmaster, and oversaw receipts rising from 8000 in 1916 to 31000 in 1945. His appointment is without term, following noncompetitive examination.

The Caroline County Farm Bureau held its annual picnic at Garland Lake last Thursday with fried chicken lunches and picnic treats. Archie Carroll of Ridgely won the Calvert C. Merriken trophy for best Bull Show animal. multiple Holstein and Guernsey calf classes judged by County Agent J. Walter Eby produced numerous winners from Denton Federalsburg Henderson and Ridgely. Johnny Williams organized games. swimming and boating added to a pleasant day as 4-H awards and a Timonium Fair beauty contest winner were announced.

At the organization meeting in Denton on July 18 1946 Elmer T Orme was named chairman W Clendaniel vice chairman Max Chambers secretary Beverly L Goldsborough treasurer Sherman T Griffith director of voting lists and publicity and William Finn director of finance. The full committee discussed district organization and planned a near term meeting of Democratic candidates to map campaign plans.
