Official figures show Caroline County's state revenue share more than doubling since 1947, with towns and cities in the county also seeing large gains. From $11,362 in 1947 the county rose to $692,866 in 1948, $738,657 in 1949, and $772,0035 in 1950, with 1951 projected at $865,270. Federalsburg, Greensboro, Ridgely and others also show sizable increases, aided by taxes on income and other revenues, plus a $190,440 allocation from a $20 million School Construction grant.

4 H Dairy Show at Garland Lake crowns champions
A crowd of about one hundred attended the 4-H Dairy Show at Garland Lake. Wheatles Neal of Denton won the Fitting and Showing Contest with his Guernsey heifer Goldwood Founder's Nellie, earning the Richard Blackburn Trophy. Edwin Love of Denton claimed the Calvert Merriken Bull Trophy for his Guernsey bull. Grand Champion Holstein was shown by Pete Meredith of Federalsburg, with Meredith Rosch Rag Apple taking the Championship ribbon and Supreme Minnie shown by John Thawles of Greensboro earning Reserve Champion. Wheatley Neal also won the Grand Champion Guernsey with Goldwood Founder's Nellie, while his sister Janet Neal placed second with Brooke's Cross Evita for Reserve Champion Guernsey. Judges Dr Gordon Cairns and John Helton of the University of Mainland presided.

Reed of Denton set a track record for the eight lap race at Jaimar Speedway on Sunday July 13. Reed in car 38 owned by Mars and Edward Henry of Denton won in 16 minutes and 1 second, defeating veteran drivers John Alartin Duke Mundorf Carry Williams and John Stoutz.
