Greensboro Fire men's Parade A Big Success
The Greensboro Volunteer Fire Company's carnival parade drew many volunteer units and bands from Eideralsburg to Oxford. Smirna won 2500 for best band. Sharptown 1500 for second. Harrington, Federalsbore, Easton, and Rock Hall each won 1000 for extra bands. Preston earned 8200 for longest distance with 20+ in line. Greenwood Ladies Auxiliaries and Rock Hall auxiliaries won additional prizes. judges included Duffey, Rawlings, Bennett, Smith, Mrs. Rich, and Miss Ginn.

State Accepts Three 4-H Programs Of Interest To Girls
Three national 4-H programs of interest to rural girls have been accepted for the current year by the Marsfind State Club office, announced by the National 4-H Club Committee. Programs include Girls Record, Canning, and Dress Revue Count. State winners receive medals and trips to the National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago next November. 1950 Jamboree Scouts Return From National Event
The Tri Counts District Box Scouts of America group of 257 from Del Mar Va Council attended the Second National Jamboree at Valley Forge Penna. One of the largest regional representations, the unit included boys and leaders from Pennsylvania Maryland Delaware Virginia and the District of Columbia. They departed June 27 and returned July 5 as part of the continent’s biggest Boy Scout gathering with attendees from all states and many foreign countries.
