Local Southern States Cooperative membership meeting set for 7 30 p m Wednesday July 21 at Ridgely High School will present the annual report and elect new members to the local Advisory Board and Farm Home Advisory Committee. Navy Veteran Dies In Car Gas Inhalation At Denton Farm
A 23 year old Navy veteran George Albert Brade Jr was found dead in his car outside his Denton area home from inhaling exhaust gas in a self inflicted death. Brade employed at DuPont nylon plant Seaford and active in Temple Masonic Lodge Denton. Funeral rites with Masonic ceremony were held at Denton cemetery.

The Pilgrim Holiness Camp of Denton opens next Thursday July 22 with Rev H B Dukes District Superintendent in charge. Evangelists include Rev David E Wilson of Binghamton NY and Rev R W Wolf of Indianapolis. Special singers are Rev Loren Brecheisen and wife of Binghamton NY assisted by district and local talent. The Denton camp established fifty years ago has grown steadily and attracts campers and visitors from near and far. A full 11 day program is planned and Rev Wm C Beard serves as pastor of the Denton Pilgrim Holiness Church.

Summer recreation program keeps children busy and happy
Community youths enjoy a lively summer program with peak attendance up to 127. Activities include bicycle races at the high school grounds and Friday teen dances. A nine member committee led by Miss Pat Pine plans events, while movie nights and family picnics engage families. Swimming classes run daily with 60 to 70 participants on average and progress shown. Funds remain needed to finish the season. donations go to treasurer Winfield Nichols. Smyrna Plant Blaze Leaves 230 Temporarily Without Livelihood
A paint fed fire hit Wilson Cabinet Company plant in Smyrna early Wednesday burning for over two hours. Volunteers from nine companies battled the blaze, damaging Unit No 1 and offices as 230 workers faced temporary unemployment. Police and fire units coordinated with aid from Cheswold and Dover areas, disrupting phone service and drawing thousands to Main Street. The plant, a $3,000,000 annual business, faced extensive damage with unknown total loss.
