PHS Reserves To Attend Red Cross Short Course
Thirty commissioned U S Public Health Service Reserve Corps sanitary engineers from 18 states and the District of Columbia including A J Fletcher of Denton will attend a ten day Red Cross disaster housing rehabilitation course at the University of Illinois Urbana July 25 to August 3. Graduates will be detailed to assist in large scale disasters involving extensive home destruction.

Edward D. E. Rollins former Maryland attorney general and civic leader will chair the Del Mar Va Council Boy Scouts annual finance campaign with a $179000 goal. 10 Day Camp Planned By Pilgrim Holiness Church
The Pilgrim Holiness Camp sponsored by the Eastern District will open July 29 and run for ten days. A tabernacle sits within a cottage quadrangle housing denomination families. Boarding for ministers and laymen will be available. Evangelistic services will be led by Rev. William H. Neff and Rev. Joshua Stauffer, with Mr. and Mrs. Max Hamilton directing singing. The annual district conference follows the camp, with Rev. J. D. Abbott assisted by Rev. H. Grier Baker managing arrangements in Denton.

Man Gets Two Years In Tiff With State Cop
Denton man Daniel Harris Jr pleaded guilty to three charges and was sentenced to two years in the Maryland House of Correction by Claude Howard, Federalsburg trial magistrate, for threatening a Maryland state trooper Emil Myers who stopped him for following a fire engine too closely. Harris used abusive names, made insulting remarks, and threatened bodily harm before jail intake. He also threatened Deputy Sheriff Isaac F. Andrew, caused loud noises, and broke a jail cell window pane. A $50.75 fine for following the fire apparatus and a 60 day Denton jail term for disorderly conduct were suspended.

Camp Wright Silver Anniversary Open House Sunday

Pecometh Mission School Sees 118 Campers At Camp Pecometh
The WSCS School of Missions and Christian Service for Girls of The Peninsula Annual Conference held at Camp Pecometh on the Chester River from June 27 to July 2 drew 118 campers with 12 counselors and teachers. Twenty-five girls could not be accommodated. Dean was Mrs. Bernice N. Lloyd of Hebron. Genevieve Poppe taught a course on Indian Americans. William Hemphill Jr. led a course on The Christian Mission in a Revolutionary World. A campfire tribal challenge was a week highlight. Eighteen girls completed three years and were graduated on July 2, including Amy Dunkle and Nancy Feucht among others.
