Mr and Mrs Crouse Celebrate Fortieth Anniversary

Approximately two hundred friends gathered at Camp Mardela on Saturday evening July 6 to honor the fortieth wedding anniversary of Clifton G. Crouse and his wife. Married June 20, 1923 near Ridgely, they have five children, twenty-one grandchildren, and active roles in farming and community service.

4-H Achievement Day Held At North Caroline High June 28th

The Caroline County 4-H Girls and Boys Achievement Day was held at North Caroline High School on June 29. Champions and blue and red ribbon winners were named across categories including Canned Vegetables Canned Fruits Cakes Clothing and Dress Revue top winners Kay Schmick Regina Lindemann and others will represent the county at the State Dress Revue during State 4-H Club Week August 5-9.

Children’s Story Hour Series Planned by Local Groups

The Woman's Club of Denton and the Caroline County Public Library co sponsor a six session Children's Story Hour at the Headquarters Library Denton on Thursdays July 11 to August 16 from 10 to 11 a.m. Preschoolers age four and students through first grade are urged to attend as experienced tellers return. Weekly State Trooper Activity Report Highlights Fatal and Property Crashes

The past week records a fatal heart attack crash on July 4 near Rte. 404 and Rte. 16 involving James Robert Lynch of Bethesda. It also notes several crashes on Rte. 313 near Greensboro and Campground Road near Denton with charges for failing to reduce speed and reckless driving, plus property damage from a backing incident on Granby St. in Greensboro. Treasury School Savings Report for Caroline County

Caroline County elementary and junior high students bought 2470.50 in savings stamps for the second semester. Four schools contributed with Denton 91,380.35, Greensboro 657.90, Federalsburg 117.00, and Preston 315.25. Schools are commended for their role in the nationwide Savings Bond Program.

Lewes Historic Days Set for July 20 21 1963

Lewes hosts two day celebration marking the towns 150th year since the 1813 British bombing with a house tour and full reenactment. Twenty five sites including Town Hall Zwaanendaele Museum Life Boat Station and Country Store open for inspection. A marine boat tour returns as hundreds participate in a staged defense with Governor Haslet and Beresford roles.
