Denton Fire Company Receives Portable Resuscitator
After a two year drive led by M. K. Newnam Jr and Jas E Kidd the Denton Volunteer Fire Company obtained a Dual Portable Resuscitator funded by local merchants and clubs. Rotary Club Lions Club and American Legion supported the effort with presentation by Fleetwood Adams and Hubbard. The device operates for 86 minutes on oxygen from two 1900 psi tanks and can serve two patients simultaneously.

Storm Knocks Out Hillsboro Phone Lines For Hours
A severe electrical storm cut a toll cable in Hillsboro Sunday night, isolating the town and disrupting service for about four hours. About 250 local stations were affected until 12:15 a.m. when long distance trunks were restored and service returned by 8 a.m. Ambulance Captain Theodore Manlove reported April through June trip data and donations totaling $135 with miles driven and locations Easton Dover Milford Salisbury.

Federalsburg Man Killed in Auto Crash Near Tubmill Branch
Federalsburg resident William H. Linaweaver died at Memorial Hospital Easton from injuries after a late Saturday crash on Route 313 near Tubmill Branch when his car left the road and struck a pole. Norman Williamson, also of Federalsburg, suffered forehead lacerations. Mrs. James F. O'Hara and son James III, of Baltimore, sustained minor injuries in a separate Hillsboro crash near Fleming's Service Station. County levy for the coming year was set with notable budget increases across offices and departments including clerical, salaries, and welfare.

Local Wheat To Depart By Boat From Den ton
The Willis and Covell Co of Denton expects to ship 10 000 bushels of local government loan wheat by boat this week to the Western Maryland Storage Elevators in Baltimore. President Mr Covell notes last year’s 110 000 bushels moved by rail, but boat routes promise better service for local farmers.
