The Caroline Choral Society presents its first concert Sunday February 5 at 3 PM in the Dentonia Theatre, sponsored by the Caroline County Business and Professional Women's Club. The non profit group formed in December 1948 to foster singing, provide recreation and education, and develop a capable chorus. Tickets are urged now for a program featuring Mozart Palestrina Handel Donizetti Elgar Debussy and more across three numbered sections.

Douglas Fleetwood president of the board of commissioners announced a three month timeline to improve Market Street lighting. The board signed a Jan 20 contract with Eastern Shore Public Service Company to install iron posts with modern brackets. About twice as many posts and lights with triple power will be added as part of upgrades for Market Street and linked improvements along Den on, Fifth, and Sixth Streets within three years.
