Two Women Die In Delaware Auto Crash
Delaware’s rising highway toll climbed to eight for the year as a tractor trailer rear ended a station wagon on Route 14 near Burrsville. Emma Gerardi, 30, of Farmington died at the scene, while Myrtle Gerardi, 32, died Tuesday. Four other occupants were seriously injured, all taken to Milford Memorial Hospital. The truck, driven by Robert E. Link of Miami Fla, was followed by McPherson. Link faces manslaughter and possible assault charges as investigations continue.

The Eastern Shore News plant on the Delmarva peninsula was destroyed by a fire started in the boiler room about 1 A M last Thursday and burned until about 6 A M. Publisher John T. Borum expects to continue publishing the paper this week using facilities from other papers while the plant is rebuilt. Insurance coverage is $55,000 with damage estimated around $75,000. An Onancock operator reported the alarm after detecting switchboard interference.
