Maryland's accelerated highway plan in Caroline and Talbot Counties yielded 57 projects totaling 48 miles and 4.94 million dollars over three years from 1947 to 1949. The Easton By-Pass accounted for about 1 million, with 1948 a peak year for resurfacing and widening, and 1950 expected to begin a third full season under the program.

Training Meeting For 4-H Leaders
A statewide 4-H leader training session will be held in Easton on January 31 1950 for volunteer leaders from Caroline Dorchester Kent Queen Anne and Talbot counties. The program runs 945 a m to 330 p m with lunch provided by Sears Roebuck Foundation. A J Brundage former State 4 H Club Leader of Connecticut will address Understanding Boys and Girls and Lydia Lynde from the US Department of Agriculture will discuss the talk. The afternoon topic is Developing Parental Cooperation. About 500 people are expected as part of Maryland wide courses sponsored by the Extension Service University of Maryland led by Dorothy Emerson and Mylo Downey.

Legion To Sponsor Polio Dance At Denton Armory
The Caroline Post No 29 American Legion will sponsor the annual Polio Dance for the Infantile Paralysis Fund at the Denton Armory on Thursday evening February 9 from 9 to 1. Bill Fleetwood chairs the dance committee with Lew Startt providing music. Committee members include Clayton Long Carroll George and Jack Logan. Admission is 1.20 dollars tax included.
