More Funds Needed For Health Center
Citizens of Caroline County are urged to contribute to the Caroline Health Center fund which now needs just over 12 000 dollars to meet its March 1 deadline. The project, designed to serve for years, will be built in Denton to centralize health services, with the full story appearing in this week’s paper.

The American Legion Auxiliary Caroline Post 29 hosts its annual Fashion Show at Denton Armory on Thursday March 1 starting at 8 PM Benjamin's of Salisbury sponsors. Mrs Hamilton Hallowell chairs the event with entertainment and refreshments. Models will be Denton area and nearby towns focus including Federalsburg Preston Greensboro Queen Anne Easton. The program runs from morning to night showcasing fashions for all ages from toddlers to grandmothers.

Woman Artist Wins Top Prize At Chester County Exhibit
Helen R. Wright of West Chester wins the Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Keen Award at the 20th Fall Show of the Chester County Art Association held December 22 to January 2 at Anderson Hall, West Chester State Teachers College. Her watercolor On the Choptank was painted on the Choptank River banks near Denton and Greensboro. Wright, a Moore Institute student, also displayed two other watercolors. She previously won the A.G.E. Steel Award as most promising junior in commercial illustration and is a 1947 West Chester High School graduate.

Christian Comrade Class Meets for January gathering
The Christian Comrade Class met at Mrs. Viola Todd's home with Mrs. Ruth Collins assisting. They sang In The Garden and read from Proverbs. The group gifted Rev. Kay and Rev. Thompson with fruit and canned goods at Christmas. About 60 attended a party with games and carol singing. A $10 donation was made for the community house furnace. Members plan aprons to sell for funds. Sunshine committee reported baby dresses, cards, and fruit gifts to shut-ins. Mrs. Bertha Maloney joined. Meeting ended with quizes by Miss Louise Beauchamp and refreshments by the hostesses.
