More than two hundred Scouts leaders parents and friends attended the Tri County Scout Rally at Easton High School on Friday January 12 1951. Highlights included opening by Jack Roe Troop 190 sea explorer demonstrations led by John D Kyle and Tom Spies air explorer displays supervised by George McClyment and a series of competitive events culminating in Tenderfoot Investiture and Court of Honor with multiple merit badges and awards announced.

The Eastern Shore Spring 4 H and F F A Fat Hog Show and Sale will be held April 17 at 10:00 am in Queen Annes County 4 H Club Park Queens Town. Exhibits rise from seven counties with 125 hogs. Hogs enter in three weight classes and will be graded by judge James B. Outhouse of the University of Maryland. Sale begins at 1:00 pm with buyers from Armour E S Kay Swift and Corkran Hill Meat Packers invited. Ross Rhodes will serve as auctioneer. Sea Scouts Visit Friendship Airport Near Baltimore
Sea Scouts from Denton visited Friendship Airport on Wednesday January 10. The trip included an inspection of the pilot house aboard the ferry and a tour of a highly modern civil airport. Guides Mr Mandley and Mr Johnson explained the airport’s facilities and operations. The group thanks James Cooper for organizing the visit.

Stove Blast Burns Shore Farmer Near Preston
A kerosene blast while refueling a kitchen stove injured Clarence Frase, a 35-year-old farmer two miles east of Preston. The blast tore off his clothes and started a kitchen fire. He drove to Dr Harold B Plummer in Preston for initial treatment then was taken to Memorial Hospital in Easton for care including several blood transfusions.

Funeral services for Harry T. Langmaid were held January 17 in Greensboro at the Raymond B. Rawlings Funeral Home. Polio Drive Off To Good Start In Caroline County
The annual polio fundraising campaign in Caroline county opened with districts organized and ready. The goal is $5,000 for January, with 50 percent kept to defray local hospital costs and the rest sent to the National Foundation for emergencies and research.
