Tax cut urged to spur full employment and growth
The speaker argues for a personal and corporate tax reduction of 810 billion dollars by the 88th Congress to lift economic growth from 2.7 percent to around 4.1 percent. He links higher disposable income to increased consumption and investment, predicting a 2 to 3 times multiplier effect and a path to budget surpluses through full employment. Kennedy’s view is cited that the nation can afford tax relief to spark growth even with a temporary deficit.
