Initiation for new American Legion members will be held Sunday January 27 at 3 00 p m at Caroline Post No 29 with a degree team from Volture No 113 of the Forty and Eight. The post will also receive a citation for reenrolling its entire 1951 membership by November 11 1951, a first in over five years among local posts.

Caroline County Organizes United Christian Youth Movement
The Caroline County Council of the United Christian Youth Movement was organized at the Church of the Brethren in Denton on Sunday afternoon January 20. Twenty representatives from eight churches attended under the Council of Churches and Christian Education of Maryland and Delaware. Miss Mary Joyce Crouse was chosen as chairman with Rev. Wilson Davis as Adult Advisor. A Commitment Service is planned for February 17 in a Denton church. The organization envisions local town councils, a county council, a state council, a national council and an international organization.

At the 18th annual meeting in Denton on January 17, Clarence J. Kern of Denton and William L. Ford of Kennedyville were reelected to three year terms. A resolution to sell remaining Class A stock at par on a pro rata basis from January 17 to February 17 was approved, with the government holding $25,000 in stock. Secretary Treasurer Charles E. Hadaway reported a net worth of $262,682. I. G. Baker praised growth and urged continued sound management and cooperation. Dorsey Hines of the Federal Land Bank spoke briefly.
