Fourth Son Wins Paratrooper Wing and Boots
Charles Perry of Preston Maryland, son of Mr and Mrs Charles Emmett Perry, earned the right to wear the U S Army Volunteer Paratrooper wings and boots after his fifth qualifying jump at the Parachute School. He completed four weeks of jump training in a night tactical leap like Sicily combat work. Perry spent about two years in the Canal Zone before returning to Maxton Army Air Base North Carolina to train with airborne and clider infantry.
