Denton Production Credit Group Seventeenth Annual Meeting
The Denton Production Credit Association will hold its seventeenth annual stockholders meeting at the Dentonia Theatre in Denton Maryland on Tuesday January 16 1951 at 1:00 PM. Secretary Treasurer Chas E Hadaway invites former members their wives and friends from Kent Talbot Queen Annes Dorchester and Caroline Counties to attend and participate in the discussion and election of directors. A program with movies entertainment and refreshments is planned as the association highlights a 1950 credit service gain of over 1 358 000 to farmers and notes progress toward farmer member ownership. County agents vocational instructors home demonstration agents and other cooperative farm groups are invited to attend.

Mrs. Annie B Wilkinson Dies at 69 in Ridgely
Annie Burton Wilkinson 69 widow of Henry Wilkinson and co publisher owner of the Caroline Sun for 18 years died last Thursday at her son Burton W. Wilkinson’s home in Ridgely. She helped run the paper since Henry Wilkinson’s 1933 death and once served as acting post mistress of Ridgely. A Methodist active, she chaired Ladies Aid and helped build the parish house in 1926. She is survived by a granddaughter Willian Walls and divided time between Ridgely and Philadelphia. Funeral was Sunday at her son’s home with Rev. L B Troutman officiating. interment in Denton Cemetery. Pallbearers: Elmer Hoff man, Charles H Messick, Andrew Rampmeyer, William Marvel Sr, G Lawrence Wilson, Marvin A Morris.

Caroline Homemakers Clubs 4 H Clubs and friends present a Folk Music of the World program on January 18 at 8:00 PM in the Caroline High School auditorium. Directed by Phyllis Leese of Denton the chorus features American and international songs with solos duets folk dances and costumes. Several Homemaker and 4 H clubs participate with tickets 50 cents for adults 25 cents for children.

Retired Army Lt Col Alexis P Minos Receives Honor
Lieutenant Colonel Alexis P. Minos, assistant judge advocate and executive officer of the judge advocate section of the 9th Infantry Division, retires with a congratulatory letter from Lt General Willis D. Crittenberger. He served since 1917, including WWI with the 2nd Division and the Army of Occupation in Germany, overseas 1944 46 in England and France, and received the Silver Star Purple Heart French Croix de Guerre and Fourragere. He will reside with wife Adelaide Woods Jewitt and two sons Philip and Bruce at 12 Fifth Avenue Denton Maryland.

Denton National Bank Holds Seventy-First Stockholders Meeting
The Denton National Bank held its seventy-first annual stockholders meeting on January 9 1951 in the board room after a pre meeting dinner at the Brick Hotel. Officers directors and staff were reelected or appointed including J Roland Chaffinch president and J Lester Everngain vice president. The bank reported a strong financial condition and that as of December 31 1950 CAROLINE COUNTY enjoys a community bank with almost five and a half million dollars in assets.

Phone Official Heads Methoch To Coach Greensboro Firemen
Donald Jones of Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Co was elected president of the Greensboro Volunteer Fire Company at its annual meeting in the firehouse last Thursday night. The March of Dimes campaign in Caroline county targets a 5000 dollar goal and runs through January. Local chairmen, volunteers, and the county treasurer organize committees in Marydel Henderson Goldsboro Greensboro Denton Preston Federalsburg Hillsboro Ridgely. Funds stay half locally and half national. 85 percent supports patient care and 13 percent funds research.

Bobcats Triumph Over Salisbury Vets In Tight Win
The National Guard Bobcats defeated the Salisbury Vets 53 to 43 on the vets home court Sunday afternoon. The win tightens the race in the Delmarva Peninsula major basketball loop as Georgetown leads with fewer games played, while Rehoboth remains a dark horse with several stars joining the roster. The Bobcats started Lane and Prosen at forward with Johnson at center and Athey and Slaughter at guards, overcoming an early Salisbury lead before closing the first quarter strong.
