Denton National Directors Propose 4-for-1 Stock Split
Denton National Bank asks shareholders at the January 10 annual meeting to approve a 4-for-1 stock split raising shares from 1,000 to 4,000 with par value cut from 100 to 25 dollars. Large holders will donate minor shares to younger depositors. directors may also transfer shares. Plan already cleared by the Washington comptroller, awaiting final approval about two weeks after the meeting if the vote passes.

Funeral for Mrs. Jane Kitchen Held in Denton
The funeral was held Monday at the Church of the Brethren with Rev. Lloyd Haag and Rev. Dr. John F E French officiating. Interment followed in Denton Cemetery. Mrs. Kitchen, 82, died last Wednesday in Crozer Hospital after a hip fracture. She lived in Chester with daughter Marie Deveise and was a former Denton resident. Survived by seven children including Jay and Ray, plus grandchildren, great grandchildren, a brother Harvey Russell and sister Kate Rainey.

Delmarva power plans 16 million dollars in 1956 expansion by Delaware Power and Light Company including nine point seven five million for Indian River station near Millsboro and Dag sboro. Over eight hundred thousand for high voltage line to Nelson substation and more than half a million for Denton to Vienna line. Projects aim at dependable interconnecting lines and dual system to prevent outages. Residential use has doubled in ten years as industry and farming grow. Continued on page 8.

Mil ford Resident Mrs Warner Dies After Illness
Mrs Pauline May Warner 49, wife of Harvey L. Warner of near Milford died Sunday in Milford Memorial Hospital after six months of illness. Born in Maryland she had lived on a Milford farm for years. Survived by husband a daughter Mrs Margaret Anne Alderson and son Lester W. Warner both of Milford her parents Mr and Mrs John L Stevens of Denton two brothers Luther Stevens of Green.

Specialist Morgan in Germany with 4th Division
Specialist Third Class Kenneth Morgan, 21, son of Roland W. Morgan of Queen Anne, serves in Company G of the 22d Regiment in the 4th Infantry Division in Germany. The Ivy division, part of the U S Seventh Army, conducts intensive maneuvers and field problems. Morgan entered the Army in June 1953, was at Fort Dix before overseas arrival last May, and graduated from Queen Anne High School in 1952.
