Pactual W. Davis, supervisor of the census, announced four enumerators are appointed to visit businesses and homes to collect census data. The appointees are Wilson J. Colne Denton Maryland Coursey H. Edwards Greensborough Maryland John W. Lankford Tenton Maryland and Jas. W. Trice Piceton Maryland. The staff includes I. Fulton Catlin Asistant Supervisor Mary P. Jomer Secretary and Emily G. Swas. Enumerators take a strict oath of confidentiality and no access to individual reports is permitted.

Elementary attendance improves across districts with grades Ridgely Denton and Goldboro showing gains while rural and colored schools report mixed results in January 1935 1936 data.
The Keystone Automobile Club of Maryland urges motorists to reduce speed in wet or slushy streets to protect pedestrians from splashes. Garrison P. Knox notes many complaints of dirty clothes and unsettled pedestrians from puddle splashes, stressing careful driving now.

Maryland advisers propose a one per cent consumers sales tax from June 1 1936 to May 31 1937 to fund a State Fund for Aid to the Needy. They urge extending the gross receipts and automobile titling taxes two months beyond March 31 1936 and allocate most revenue to Baltimore City and the counties. The plan runs fourteen months and assumes continued Federal Works Progress Administration activity.
The Boys 4-H Clubs of Carolina County will hold their annual banquet in the M. E. Church House Goldsboro on Thursday evening February 27 at 7 00 PM.
