One Killed Six Hurt in Delaware Crash
A head on collision three miles north of Federalsburg left Nardy Derrickson dead and six others injured. In Derrickson’s car, his son William, plus Handy Derrickson’s wife Ethelyn, daughter Alice Simpler and her infant daughter Ethelyn Ann were hurt. The other car carried Charles Fleetwood and Clarence Cordrey, both of Seaford.

Preston elder Charles Bradford Harrison 80 died Tuesday February 8 at Memorial Hospital Easton after a decade of ill health. A lawyer and longtime bank director, he lived in Preston and remained active at the courthouse with wheelchair assistance. Survived by three sisters and several nieces and nephews, funeral at Bethesda Methodist Church Preston with burial Linchester Cemetery.

Monday February 21 at Caroline High School in Denton covers pasture dairy and general farm problems from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Tuesday February 22 focuses on truck crops and canning diseases insect control with specialists from the canning industry and state college. Newcastle disease in broilers and laying flocks will be discussed with a film titled Newcastle Disease to be shown. A. W. Sisk & Sons of Preston sponsor Tuesday lunch and the Institute banquet will be held at the Denton Armory.
