Denton Christmas Home Decoration Prizes Awarded
Denton Chamber of Commerce awarded prizes for lighting and decor during the Christmas season. Heavy Bridge Equipment Moves Toward Bay Construction
Heavy-duty equipment is being moved to the Chesapeake Bay site for the new bridge. The Arundel Corporation of Baltimore, as a subcontractor for Frederick Snare Corporation of New York, dredges 80,000 cubic yards of mud to begin Pier 23, with the Defender dredge hoisting 13 cubic yards per bite from 64 feet depth. The work creates a sand bed for cofferdams, then fill, with plans for sand islands and riprap for vessel protection. Meanwhile Pier 27 and 28 dredging and channel work proceed, and dredges Arlington and other crews finish a 70,000 cubic yard channel into Sandy Point ferry terminal while piling work commences for the bridge run.

Francis X Troxler lot on the Grove to American Corners road in Caroline County’s eighth district faces sale for delinquent taxes by County Treasurer Sherman L Tribbett in 1950 unless heir Francis X Troxler Jr, unknown address, appears. Troxler died intestate January 9 1942 leaving his grandson as sole heir. George W Beck received 1942 letters of administration and turned $739 personal estate to Orphans Court registry. The 13 1 2 acre parcel with a small house would revert to the county for the public school fund if no claimant appears.
