Federalsburg Mother Held In Baby's Death
An 18 year old Federalsburg mother was charged Tuesday night with killing her five month old son by strangling him with a diaper. The infant was found dead in a Route 318 house by the father, Raymond Green, who returned from work to discover the scene and forced entry. The baby, Raymond Green Jr., had been dead about an hour, according to the Caroline county medical examiner. State's Attorney James A. Wise, Sheriff William E. Andrew, and State police Corporal Gus G. Koste filed the charges.

Island birds’ refuge warned as homes rise on Assateague
Caroline County Bird Club heard Chandler Robbins of the Fish and Wildlife Service voice concern that about 240 bird species recorded at The Levels on Assateague Island are vanishing with new housing and dogs. He warned a proposed Assateague Chincoteague bridge could ruin the bird haven. Robbins highlighted Chincoteague Causeway as a prime spot to observe birds and noted Susquehanna Refuge as a crowded waterfowl concentration. He also recommended Bombay Hook Refuge for duck studies.
