Indictments in Caroline Babies Deaths Shock County
A Caroline county grand jury returned manslaughter and first degree murder indictments against two young mothers in the deaths of five month old children. Irvin Seigler and Raymond Green, both 18 to 22, face charges after infants died within twelve days of each other in Denton and Federalsburg. Seigler pleaded not guilty and faces a January 5 trial date. Green is charged with first degree murder. her husband said he found the child with a diaper around the neck after forcing entry. Green was ordered into Spring Grove State Hospital for an insanity inquiry. The grand jury also issued a report urging recall on January 12 1953 if prior recommendations remain unmet.

Girl Accused In Baby Slaying Free on Bail
Miss Lenon Willey, a Seaford bank clerk, is accused of the first degree murder of her day old child. She was released on 810,600 bail for the February term of Superior Court. Bail was posted by Seaford residents after attorney Robert W. Tunnell argued for release. The body was found Dec. 4 in a box in woods near Concord. police say the infant was strangled.

A Tuesday morning fire at the Denton Exchange of the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Co. started near the basement heating plant, causing an estimated 20000 dollars in damage.
