Maryland Wheat Acreage Rules Warn Farmers on Excess
Maryland s farm front this week reports the Maryland Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee chair, William L. Dudley, warns wheat growers with excess acreage about effects on 1961 allotments. Two options exist to secure base acreage credit: dispose of excess before a future harvest deadline or store or deliver excess wheat if over 15 acres and production at least 200 bushels. If excess is later used or sold, 1961 history is reduced to the allotment level.
