Coroner John R. Rogers Jr. ruled the death of 9 month old Thomas James Hutson accidental after the infant allegedly suffocated entangled in blankets while in a parked car on Loeckerman Street. His mother Dorothy Hutson of Goldsboro and a bystander aided the child to Kent General Hospital where he died.

Tractor maintenance school set for Denton dates
The Maryland University extension service American Oil Company and Maryland farm equipment dealers sponsor a two day tractor maintenance school in Denton on December 16 and 17. It trains men and boys in safe efficient servicing and operation and teaches these skills to other 4-H members. The program continues with future schools at Cumberland or Hagerstown January 13 and 14 Towson January 20 and 21 and began December 9 and 10 at Upper Marlboro. The statewide effort ends with the annual Timonium State Fair 4-H tractor operators contest.

The Girl Scouts of Denton council held a December 8 meeting at Mrs. William Orme's home. Mrs. Carville Fleetwood elected chairwoman to replace K Thomas Everngain. Troop 3 plans a December 20 Christmas party for the Children's Home of Easton with gifts, carols, and a tap dance. A December 23 carol program by Brownies and Girl Scouts will occur at the Courthouse Square Nativity scene between 5 and 6 PM. Refreshments followed.

Santa Claus Day in Greensboro at New Theatre
