Isaac Robertson Fleetwood aged 70 former mayor of Denton died Tuesday afternoon returning from a fox hunting trip to Tuckahoe Station Found slumped at the wheel by Russum Lord. He had recently retired from the Denton National Bank after forty years service. Funeral services set for Friday at 2 p.m. at Grace Methodist Church with Rev. T J Turkington officiating. Interment in Denton Cemetery.

Thieves Target VFW Post And Choptank Electric Co-Op
Sometime Monday night December 3 a back window at the VFW Post Home on the Denton Greensboro Road was broken. Missing items include beer 2 to 3 dozen sandwiches cash from three slot machines about 34 cigarette cartons and $20 from a cigarette machine. A music machine was opened but no money was found. A glass pane in a rear door of the Choptank Electric Cooperative offices was broken likely Tuesday night December 4 but nothing appeared missing. State police and the sheriff's office investigate both incidents.

Juvenile Court Hearing Held For Ten Youths
Ten youths faced charges from a Denton area crime spree including break ins at the American Legion Post Home Singers Service Station and Caroline High School Four youths appeared before Judge J DeWeese Carter last Wednesday and were ordered held for criminal court The three colored youths cited in assault charges against an eleven year old girl were ordered held for criminal court proceedings Trooper Myers noted three youths involved in car theft and property damage were placed on probation and released to their parents

Contract Set For School Building At Lockerman
At a special Caro line County Board of Education meeting on Thursday November 29 a contract was awarded to J Russell Summers of Easton Maryland to build a combined agriculture shop and classroom 43 by 42 feet at the north end of the Lockerman School Denton replacing basement quarters. The project includes renovations to lighting and fire alarm systems with a total price of 34500 dollars. Work begins immediately and should finish by May 1 1957. Johannes and Murray of Silver Spring Maryland are the architects on the project.

Roe to replace Wyatt as Diamond Supply delivery rep

Eastern Shore Public Service To Build 2 Million Dollar Building
The Eastern Shore Public Service Company of Maryland will construct a 2 million dollar all electric service and administration building near Salisbury to consolidate operations from 10 sites. George M. Nelson announced bids are in and aimed for occupancy within 18 months. The 135000 sq ft, two story T shaped facility on a 20 acre site at Route 13 and Naylor Mill Road features 25 heat pumps, luminous ceiling lighting, water heat pumps, and a 277/480 volt distribution system. The complex includes offices, a board room, conference areas, a lobby with a showroom kitchen, an auditorium, repair and storage spaces, and a front marquee. An adjacent garage will house trucks and cars with a public address system and snow melt. The project promises improved conditions, parking, and customer service while preserving a downtown Salisbury office for bill paying after move.

Final plans for a six session interdenominational Christian Leadership School were made by the Caroline County Ministerial Association at First Methodist Church in Denton. Courses cover teaching preschool to high school youth and Bible study with instructors from Federalsburg Queen Anne’s and Maryland Delaware Council of Churches. The school begins January 8 with Rev Bebee as dean and church leaders coordinating. A clothing drive for overseas relief and prison ministry updates were also reported.

Hassil E. Schenck Indiana Farm Bureau president told the House Ways and Means Committee that excise taxes hinder farmers, urging repeal of taxes on pipeline oil transport, rubber tires for tractors and equipment, and telephone services. He also pressed for clear legislation to exempt tractor parts not used in automobiles from excise tax.

Red Cross Raises Million for Hungarian Relief Effort
The American Red Cross allocates 1 million dollars for Hungarian relief to aid refugees and aid the International Committee of the Red Cross. A 200000 meal daily feeding program in Hungary and 300000 already allotted plus five million dollar disaster appeal are planned. Santa to Visit Children in Greensboro Saturday
