The 3rd annual banquet of the Eastern Shore Horse Show Association in Salisbury awarded over 50 prizes and elected Martin Sutton as vice-president. Hamilton Fox acted as toastmaster while Claude Owen spoke on fox hunting in Ireland. Retiring president Richard Carey praised progress as 11 shows on the Shore thrived. Officers announced for 1956 include Charles Lowe as president and Martin Sutton as vice-president. Permanent trophies went to Mrs. Roland Koehler for Muscovado in Green Hunter. challenge trophies were funded by Nuttle Lumber and J. W. Hallowell.

Clarence H Roe Dies At His Denton Home
Clarence Hartley Roe 71 a member of a well known family died Wednesday morning November 30 at his Denton home after several years of ill health. He was the son of the late Thomas F Roe and Mary Ellen Dukes Roe. A Grace Methodist Church member he served on the Board of Trustees and Stewards and once supervised the Sunday School. He belonged to the Junior Order United American Mechanics and was a charter member of the Denton Volunteer Fire Company. The fire company held its first organizational meeting in his garage.
