The Caroline County Sub District Methodist Youth Fellowship held its first meeting since the summer holidays in Greensboro on Monday November 20 with delegations from Marydel Goldsboro Ridgely Denton Hillsboro Queen Anne and Greensboro. Harry H. Rieck of Preston was elected president of the Southern States Eastern Shore Poultry Marketing Cooperative at a meeting in the Wicomico Hotel Salisbury Monday night. Vance A. McCabe of Frankford became vice president and C Bounds Phillips of Quantico was named secretary. The group plans a Salisbury poultry processing plant for lower Eastern Shore members with plant operations targeted for late May or early June. The charter and by-laws were adopted by about 100 attendees despite bad weather.

Soldier Breeding Returns From 10 Day Furlough

War Bond Caravan to Tour Maryland in December
The largest U S Army War Bond caravan will tour Maryland starting December 3 for about two weeks visiting over thirty cities. Lt Donovan Swann commands a convoy of signal corps equipment with combat cameras field telephones tanks radios and more. In Denton the caravan appears December 9 at 9 30 a m and in Federalsburg at 1 30 p m.

Miss Katherine Rittenhouse of Ridgely a Salisbury State Teachers College student has earned a trip to the National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago starting December 1 for outstanding food preparation work. She and Miss Bessie M Spafford of Denton will represent Caroline county at the weeklong event with 4-H members from many states. Rittenhouse used culinary skills in her home and beyond.

Counties Share In 6th War Bond Purchase Across State
Governor Herbert R. O Conor announced a $6,000,000 Sixth War Bond buy allocated by the State Administration. Caroline County receives $18,000, with total state and city allocations exceeding $21,000,000. The $6,000,000 includes $5,000,000 from state surplus and Post War Reconstruction funds, plus $1,000,000 from retirement systems. Allocation among counties and Baltimore City follows quota shares, except $700,000 from Teachers' Retirement System goes entirely to counties. Maryland motorists will use corner license plate tags for 1945, emergency type from steel-shortage years 1942 and 1943. W Lee Elgin, Commissioner of Motor Vehicles, notes color is black numerals on aluminum. 1944 plates total 452,544 issued and expire March 31, 1945 with no extension.
