Congress

Edward T. Miller reports a 132 hour House session where the chamber passes a 7.5 billion foreign aid bill after a late floor motion to further cut funds. The measure creates a Mutual Security Administration, preserves procurement with Defense, and mirrors Senate versions on housing and federal pay curbs. The Senate backs 1952 funding levels, and overrides a veto for veterans pensions while Congress approves multiple 1952 appropriation bills for Labor, Agriculture and the Interior.
