The Greensboro Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary met Friday evening with vice-president Mrs. Margaret Nichols presiding. Nineteen members attended, three new members were welcomed. A $1000 check was presented to the firemen for a new engine, and $505.60 from carnival cake donations was acknowledged along with over a hundred dollars in parades. The next meeting is scheduled for August 24 with a strong turnout hoped for.

Roger Brubaker Dies From Heart Attack
Roger Lamar Brubaker, 30, a carpenter of Denton, died of a heart attack while working on a house in Newark last Friday, Aug. 11. He was the son of Mrs. Mary Brubaker and the late William Brubaker. Survived by his wife Ethel Smith, one sister Mildred Bareford, two brothers Robert and Alton Brubaker. Funeral services were held at his home near Denton Monday at 2 p.m. by Rev. Thomas J. Turkington of Grace Methodist Church. Burial followed in Denton Cemetery.
