Eye specialist outlines plan to cut auto crashes
Northwestern University eye expert Dr. James E Lebensohn urges a four point program to reduce crashes. He calls for visual screenings with licenses, laws banning driving without corrective glasses, better street and highway lighting, and a culture of safe driving. He notes many states lack uniform vision tests and varying standards for acuity from 20/20 to 20/70 and no tests for night vision.
