Statesman Versus Politician in 1952 Lesson
The essay argues a statesman serves humanity, not a district, citing Saul, Samuel, and biblical analogies. It highlights three perennial state problems: national defense and costly military expenses, national unity beyond parochial interests, and balancing centralized power with democracy. It emphasizes vision and broad public spirit for electing leaders.

Big Thursday reunions and camp meetings mark Delmarva history
Twenty five years ago last Thursday marked Big Thursday at Bowers Beach as Carolineans renewed acquaintances. Cement work began on First Street in Denton while the Wheatley family eighth annual reunion drew 500 to 1,000 descendants from across the country to Wheatley's M P Church west of Seaford. Memorial services honored deceased members as Concord camp meeting grounds faced rebuilding after a recent fire, with Rev C H Cannon and others speaking and plans discussed for tents and future gatherings.
