The Denton Baseball Club will play at Centreville Sunday at 2:30. Denton had no game last Sunday. a home and away set was planned for August 6 and 20. The Centreville Club, fielding a strong squad, aims to shore up weak spots after several players were in State Guard Camp. Maryland to force car stamp purchase in three day drive
Maryland motorists will face a three day drive to compel purchase of the $5 Federal use stamp to be displayed on vehicles by July 1. George Hofferbert, Internal Revenue collector, said deputies will assist statewide. Drivers lacking the stamp may be cited in court, but penalties are waived if the stamp is purchased and affixed.

Returned Home for Walter H. Lyons After Overseas Duty
Walter H. Lyons returned home to Chester Pennsylvania then to Brooklyn New York after twenty five months overseas service. He served with General Montgomerys British Eighth Army in desert warfare then with the U S Fifth Army under General Clark in the Tunisian campaign and participated in the Salerno and Anzio landings in Italy. Plane Makes Forced Landing On Love Farm
A P A7T fighter plane from Dover Arm Air Field belly landed at noon on the Love Farm owned by F. Earl Love, seven miles south of Denton. The crew member escaped injury with only minor aircraft damage. An Air Corps board investigates the accident cause.

Pte. William Martin Phillips entered the army on April 2, 1941 and has served overseas for 22 months. He is now in France with the Artillery of the 29th Division. Before enlisting he worked at the Pet Milk plant in Greensboro, and he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Phillips of Henderson.
