Denton Election Leads With C S Kauffman Victory
In the Denton town election held last Monday C S Kauffman won 290 of 496 votes, a majority of 81, in the largest town election to date. The town advances toward completion of a new playground and athletic field with track and baseball diamond laid out by Waldorf Anderson and Dukes. Miss Margaret Pastorfield was named Maryland Register of Wills, the first woman in the state to hold the post. Funeral notices honor Civil War veteran Silas Christopher and farmer James H Horsey, with services at local churches. The Caroline County Farm Bureau elected leaders and planned twelve local bureaus around the county. A series of weddings, memorials, and community events filled pages, including a large funeral for J Howard Pastorfield and a 69th birthday gathering for Albert Stafford.
