An inspection team from Second Army Ha will assess Company H of the Maryland National Guard for Federal Recognition. The evaluation is set for 8 p.m. on April 28 at the Denton Armory. Current strength is 265 enlisted and 2 officers. full strength will be 160 enlisted and 7 officers. After recognition, drill pay accrues from federal funds. Kent Queen Anne Memorial Unit Holds Charter Dinner
The charter presentation dinner of the Kent Queen Anne Memorial Unit at Millington drew Caroline American Legion Post 29 members led by Commander William Wertz and Mrs Wertz along with Mrs O E Roberts and others. Attending auxiliaries from Cecil Elkton Jeff Davis Centreville and Chester Town were also represented with state officers present. The Caroline Unit received a national auxiliary citation for meeting membership quotas, shared by Cecil Jeff Davis and Kent Queen Anne units. The turkey dinner was served by Millington Firemen's Auxiliary.

Dr Symons Addresses Caroline Farmers on Drainage Gains
Dr Thomas B Symons dean of Maryland College of Agriculture told Caroline county farmers that proper field drainage can boost yields as much as moisture conservation. Speaking at Denton High School he cited 38 Tax Ditch Associations in the county with 880 cooperating farmers and 200 miles of tax ditch serving 106000 acres. Cordova Boy Wins 4-H And FFA Fat Hog Show Championship
Donald Hutchison, a ten year old 4-H Club member from Talbot County, won Grand Champion with his Hamp shire barrow at the spring 4-H and FFA Fat Hog Show and Sale in the Caroline Sales Building, Denton. His hog sold for 82 cents a pound and he received a hog feeder and 300 pounds of hog feed, with additional prize money. Thirty-two 4-H and FFA members entered 127 hogs that averaged 26 4 cents per pound.

Methodists To Meet In Wilmington Church
The eighth annual Peninsula Conference of the Methodist Church meets May 15 to 19 at Union Methodist Church Wilmington with representation from Salisbury Easton Dover and Wilmington districts. Bishop Charles Wesley Flint presides and Bishop A Frank Smith of Houston will give daily addresses including evangelism on May 18. Over 60 pastoral changes are expected, the most since 1940, and Dr Oliver J Collins will end his Wilmington district term with Ralph C Jones finishing his Salisbury district term. Caroline Chapter No. 62 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Denton Maryland held its regular meeting on Thursday April 17 with Worthy Matron Mrs Mildred C Butler presiding. Denton residents met at the high school on April 23 to organize a town recreation program. George Clendaniel presided as board president.
