Costs Drop In Second Round Bid For County Courthouse
The Field Construction Co of Wyoming Del. was the low bidder at 329900 after second round costs for a remodeled and expanded Court House. Atlantic General Contractors bid 349500 and Charles E Brohawn & Bros 342690. initial bids were rejected as over 350000. The county atras revised specifications. Field is expected to be named contractor next week. Field, led by Earl Field, also built Denton’s Peoples Bank.

The annual Beauty Contest from the Greensboro Lions Club unfolds Friday at 7 30 p m in Greensboro School Auditorium. It features Little Miss Greensboro and Miss Greensboro with the latter advancing to the Miss Delmarva crown at Salisbury Maryland in June. Prizes include savings bonds of 50 25 and 25 dollars for winners and runners up.

County 4H members win public speaking contest victory
Alan Garey of Upper Chop tank 4-H Club won Sr. Boys and Phyllis Saathoff of Aunt Pearl's 4-H Club was Reserve Champion Sr. Girls at the four county District Public Speaking Contest held in Easton on Thursday April 15 at 8:00 p.m. Caroline County participants included Valerie Rieck of Preston Midgets 4-H Club who placed third in Junior Girls and Tommy Chambers of Denton Viking 4-H Club who took second in Junior Boys. Garey will represent the district at the State Fair Revue on September 2 in Timonium Maryland. Judges were Mrs. William Riggs Jr. Queen Anne County Mrs. George Thoma Kent County and Mr. Thomas Taylor Caroline County. Sixteen 4-H'ers from four counties participated.
