Bundle Day In Caroline Schools To Provide Clothing For Needy
Caroline county schools will host a Bundle Day on Monday April 14 for collecting serviceable used clothing. Save the Children Federation will distribute the items to disadvantaged rural districts in the United States and five European nations as part of the 1947 National Children's Clothing Crusade. The drive aims to collect two million pounds of wearable clothing in 1947, following last year’s 889,931 pounds from 630 bundle days in 43 states. Officials note many children in affected areas have annual incomes under 400 dollars and would miss school in cold weather without proper clothing. Donations of clean clothing, blankets, bedding, and shoes are needed, with repairs made where possible.
