Caroline Choral Society concert at Dentonia Theatre

For the Caroline County Business and Professional Club a scholarship funded by the first Caroline Choral Society performance is celebrated. On April 15 at 3:00 P M in Dentonia Theatre the chorus will present religious and semi classical music inviting a full house. Fat Hog Show To Be Held April 17

Well over one hundred fat hogs will be shown and later sold at the Queen Anne's County 4-H Club Park near Centreville on Tuesday April 17. The event, in its fifth year, is sponsored by University of Maryland Extension Service and local agricultural groups. Hogs will be weighed and cartagged April 16 at Esskay Buying Station. Weight classes range from light 150-180 to heavy 221-280 pounds, with blue red and white grades and a grand championship for top blues. Peninsula to Host First Professional Flower Show

Plans advance for the Delmarva peninsula’s first professional flower show set for May 5 and 6 at Milford Armory. Milford Kiwanis Club sponsors. John R. Rogers states judges will be from out of state. Florists and nurseries from Virginia to Wilmington expect to enter. forty entries already received with sixty anticipated.

Barn Raising at Camp Todd Sunday

Sunday April 15 volunteers are invited to Camp Todd near Williston, six miles south of Denton, for five weeks of Girl Scout Camp use. Funds and materials donated by Uhle Todds and local groups have funded a 20 by 40 foot dining and recreation hall.

Health official warns of home accident dangers

March meeting of the Caroline County Business and Professional Women's Club focused on health and safety. County sanitarian A J Fletcher presented accident statistics and emphasized keeping stairs clear of toys and avoiding children sleeping with adults. Awards Again Offer ed 4-Hers in Clothing Awards

National 4-H programs will continue to award 4-H Clothing Achievement and 4-H Preparation prizes for 1951. Spool Cotton Co of New York marks its 11th year sponsoring clothing awards while Nash-Kelvinator Div Detroit joined last year. Maryland projects progress with county state and national judging. state champions win all-expense trips to Chicago and 12 national clothing champions receive 300 dollar college scholarships.

Delegates To Be Chosen This Month

Local Woman's Societies of Christian Service in the Methodist Church across the Peninsula will this month elect delegates for the annual Conference meeting at Grace Church Wilmington on May 10 1951. Each group sends the president and one representative for every fifty members. Officers for the next two years will be nominated by a committee including Mrs John Shilling Dover Mrs Milton Pope Salisbury Mrs Thomas McGuire Cambridge Mrs S Clifford Kirk and Mrs J W Latomus Wilmington. At the April Ridgely Chamber of Commerce meeting a decision was made to sponsor an annual horse show at Community Park. Proceeds will likely fund recreational improvements. Caroline County Bird Club Meeting in Denton

The Caroline County Bird Club met at the Church of the Brethren in Denton on Thursday evening April 6 with about 60 people. Miss A May Thompson described rare birds seen in Florida and slides aided identification while Mr Fletcher led a discussion on local species. The next meeting is set for May 3 at 7 45 p m at the same church with a Fish and Wildlife Service speaker and a club constitution presentation.

Tests Ready for College Students in Maryland May June

Colonel Henry C Stanwood director of Selective Service Maryland announced that application blanks and Bulletin of Information for ITS tests will be available at Local Board offices around April 12. Tests on May 26 June 16 and June 30 will determine student deferment eligibility based on learning potential or class standing. Local Board offices provide locations via post office inquiries.
