Delaware Power And Light agrees to serve the Chestertown area extending power from Wilmington across the Delmarva Peninsula. The 66,000-volt line will link Wilmington to the eastern shore, with Salisbury Md through its subsidiary supplying Chestertown. 424 Foot Poultry House Burns Near Dover Del
A 424 foot long two section poultry house burned to the ground on the Danner farm near Dover Delaware. The loss, estimated at 10000 dollars, stemmed from a defective brooder stove during preparations for 26000 day old chicks. No birds were in the building. Firefighters from Dover Magnolia Army Air Field and neighboring towns battled the blaze, preventing spread to nearby structures while aiding in keeping 16000 remaining chicks in other houses.
