Miss Gretta L Nies daughter of Mr and Mrs Joseph H Nies of Adamstown Pa married Andrew B Ludwig Jr son of Mr and Mrs Andrew B Ludwig Sr of Ephrata Pa on Saturday March 30 at the Ephrata Church of the Brethren with Rev Guy Wampler officiating The bride wore a white satin gown and carried a white Bible The couple will reside in Ephrata Pa Local attendees included Clifton G Crouse Robert Calloway and families Lewis Cherry and daughters Roland Cherry and others

Tuckahoe And Martinak Parks To Get More Funds

Senator Harry R Hughes and delegates announced the Capital Improvements Budget includes 300000 for land at Tuckahoe State Park near Hillsboro and 20000 for Martinak State Park as a recreational area. Martinak on the Choptank River south of Denton will become camping and picnic sites. 450000 total for the two parks. The budget also adds 100000 to study branching University of Maryland campuses on the Eastern Shore and other regions.

Maryland Wheat Scene Draws Broad Attention

The 1964 wheat program faces a May or June referendum by growers. Farmers are urged to wait for full program details before judging. Maryland wheat yields rose from 19.1 to 27.3 bushels from 1939-43 to 1960-62, with 331000 acres producing 6.7 million bushels then. The 1962 crop on 129000 acres yielded 7.3 million dollars. The 1963 crop progress lagged due to cold and heavy snow, with efforts to finish measurements in April and inform farmers.
