Bob Richards the twice Olympic pole vault champion and public speaking figure will headline the Delmarvalous chicken banquet for Newark Delaware food retailers on Monday evening April 1. The event, part of the 2 day University of Delaware Conference on Food Distribution, draws independent and chain stores from about 20 states. Richards' talk is titled Life's Higher Goals. Play Production Grinding Wheels For March 29th

State's Attorney Disposes of Several Court Cases
A circuit court in Caroline County on Wednesday, March 13, found Emory Lee Andrews to still be a defective delinquent and remitted him to Patuxent Institution for an indeterminate period after earlier rulings in 1957 and 1958. The trial, with Dr. Werner A. Kohlmeyer testifying, concluded that Andrews remains a defective delinquent. Nearby magistrate proceedings on March 18 handled fines and bonds for various defendants, including Theodore Goins for carrying a concealed weapon and assault, and Marion McMullen for gambling, with several others awaiting postponed trials. Board Approves 1963 64 School Budget In Special Session
In a special session at the Board of Education Office on Monday March 18 the board unanimously approved the 1963 64 school budget for nearly 4900 students and 216 teachers. The $1 985 260 budget covers July 1 1963 to June 30 1964 with state share of 1 263 593 local share of 705 773 and other funds. The plan includes a $11 327 overall expenditure rise due to enrollment and staff increases and raises salaries by 200 for some teachers and 300 for longer serving staff. The budget will be presented to County Commissioners on April 2 1963.

Four O Clock Burning Law In Effect In Spring
Forest Ranger Walter Bounds advises that from March 1 to May 30 open air burning is allowed only after 4 p m and before 12 midnight EST. The rule applies within 200 feet of woodland or flammable material that could ignite, and outside incorporated town limits. A 10 foot wide fire break around burn sites is required with adequate personnel and equipment.
